On Saturday morning, August 8, 2026, Mark, William, Logan, Michael, Vik, Jim, Rick, Bob, Bryan, (Dick H. visited), and Darrell (Johnny couldn’t be with us) all enjoyed a great POTA activation at the sceneic overlook of Morrow Mountain State Park. The views from Morrow Mountain were splendid!

After we had a great lunch at Five Points Public House in Albamarle where waitress Becky and her colleagues served us some delicious food.

We’re already eagerly looking forward to the next POTA activation.

Antennas

For base stations, we used at least two end-fed half-wave antennas, several varieties of vertical antennas.

POTA

We were at POTA park entity US-2746. Many of us had never done a POTA event before. We used SSB phone and Mark did some CW SSB as well.
